I want to share my favorite quote before we begin:
"I never consider a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend." - Thomas Jefferson.
Please keep this in mind as you read, or respond. For there are few words truer in my heart then those.
Also keep in mind I don't intend to make a habit of this.

I've been debating not posting a journal today about 9/11 despite the fact that it's been on my mind, or just just skim over it with a generic mourning message. I don't want to go in depth because I know I'll get political, but I can't just keep quiet and I figure 9/11 is the best time as any to say this. A blogger and writer I respect recently advised against writers and artist being political on their blog, I'm going to have to disagree, I fight too much of my nature for the sake of keeping social contracts and that has to stop. And if the only one left standing, I will not afraid to say what's right.
I've been following this for years now but all I seem to be picking up is static on the radio:
11 years ago today the country I live in was hit, thousands were dead because of the actions of a few extremist cowards who failed to grasp the basic principle of their own faith. It's been 11 years since then, 1 year ago the media was a buzz it was 9/11 news coverage from July til the date, today it's just another Tuesday. I've seen less news on 9/11 today then I have in any remembrance date in the last 11 years. But that's not what this is about, that's just more static. I'm kinda glad it's not being hyped up the way it was before, I hope that means the coming rant wouldn't be needed but I also know I'm stupid and keep believing in people only to be proven wrong. But you can't fix stupid.
I think that's enough reference for now. Time to get to the meat of this.
I don't feel safe my country, I often have nights were I really am afraid, nights were I cry, nights were I scream, nights which I feel powerless. I fear that the night has over taken the day, I fear men scheming to take away my freedoms in dark rooms, I fear that they could be all around me, ready to take away my freedoms or even my life in a a moment if I don't agree with their world view.
These people I fear don't have wear turbans or wield AK-47's, they wear neat little ties and black suits. They have titles like senator and congressman, secretary, and attorney general even really fancy ones like President of the United States.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I don't need to be. Half of the reasons why I'm afraid are open to the pubic. We've been slowly losing our freedoms, first under bush and it continued under Obama. I doubt the intent is all malicious, I think a lot of these people really do care for something that isn't power and greed but I feel they're going about it wrong, and justifying the wrongs as necessary evils.
I feel more afraid and less free in 2012 then I did in 2001.Over zealous pat-downs and more and more laws being passed which can suspend your freedoms or restrict your rights. You think SOPA and PIPA were bad just take a look at what they slipped into the 2013 NDAA or several other acts it take too long to list
I hope I'm just over reacting here, but I've been hoping for years, and I keep having those hopes crushed over and over and over again. History repeating. Romney, no different then Obama, no different then Bush. I've found very few people in the federal government who I find are either trustworthy or competent.
Unless things change soon, I fear there is no hope in this nation's future. Almost every person running for government or in government at the current moment supports this system too much, supports this machine to much. Be it malicious intent or just a misguided desire to protect people. And what of man, what is mankind doing. We sit idly by and throw mud at one another.
To quote, Mario Savio, "There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels…upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"
I cannot even passively take part and that's why I posted this. We can still change things for the better though, peacefully. There are still heroes left in man, We still have time to undo the damages we've allowed to happen to our nation and the world in the name of protecting freedom by taking it away.
We have great risk ahead of us in the coming election but also great potential. But we cannot walk away from the light, I know the idea of safety is appealing but do not take a bite of that apple. We can turn this nation, this world back toward the light but it cannot just be the will of one person. Am I using enough metaphors here or am I laying this one a little too thick?
If you're in the states look up your congressman's or senator's record, research the bills a little and if you don't like what you're seeing. Call them up or send them a letter telling them this and tell them if they don't fix this soon you will take your vote somewhere else and back up that by actually doing it, and don't just vote for the opposite party, both of the major American parties are at fault for this mostly because we threw the burden on them. Check your political beliefs and see if a third party might be better for you, even if they don't stand a chance of winning if enough people do this those in power will be forced to recognize that not everyone is going to chose red or blue, some people like other colors..
Same goes for any nation with a republic, do not think that your voice doesn't matter, it does. But your voice needs to be a constant in their ear, they aren't going to listen to someone who bitches and runs, you need to keep at it and encourage other to do the same. This is your world, your life, and like it or not government and politics control it but we control government and politics as long as we are an active force and not a reactive force.
Find the issues you care about and talk about them, rant about them, no matter how trivial you think others may find them if they matter to you, then say something about it. And don't just rant here, tell your congressman how you feel, don't wait for it to be an issue, make an issue now! Call them, send them letters, email. Be polite but make your opinions known.
If you don't live in a nation without representatives you can a least inform yourself on your nations current issues and history, even though if your not represented chances are there is nothing you can really do beyond this. Sorry.
How does Megaman factor into this?
Well I've dropped about a dozen references in the above rant to The Protomen and The Megas. Mostly the Protomen because I fear if we don't act soon the future of Act 1 and Father of Death will be our future killer robots (drones) and all, and because I feel a lot of people are sitting idly by either not caring or holding out for a hero but I learned very recently you can't hold out for some knight in shining armor sometimes you need to wear the armor yourself and become that knight.
That and originally before I decided I need to speak about poltics I was going to talk about this www.egmnow.com/articles/news/c… as Megaman has been close to my heart since childhood. But I felt the above rant was more important.
I may get hate for this, or sarcasm. I know it was cheesy and reference filled but that's just who I am, a nerd. I hope you do remember the first quote I posted though, as I view those as words to live by. This took me close to four-five hours to write and be mostly happy with, but here it is.

New Job! Happy Pride
Long time no journal. After a long bout of unemployment I have found work as of last week and already started working there. I'm not a huge fan of the place, or their expectations but the location is nice. The structure of a job will be good though, once I figure out how to adjust energy levels after shifts and during my work week again. That way I can manage being creative, keeping up with media and interacting with folks. Sadly, it is in person work. However, part time and I'm wearing my N95's for every shift. Not just for Covid, but also because I don't want any dust to get in my sinuses and cause any issues. Additionally, Happy Pride month!
Shakura's Sunset 6th Anniversary
6 Years ago today I started posting my webtoon/webcomic and to this day it's 50+ page run is still one of my proudest accomplishments https://www.deviantart.com/vyctorian/art/Shakura-s-Sunset-Page-1-557961488 In lieu of flowers, do something creative. I was motivated to do so by the passing of Monty Oum (Dead Fantasy, Haloid, RWBY) earlier in that year. Thank you, Monty. We'll always miss you.
Devious Journal Entry
I bought my first art tablet with a screen display and just holding it in my hands I felt the symbolic weight it carried with it like when I got got my first art tablet.
That "holy shit, I AM an artist" internal validation, followed by a sense of responsibility and determination that isn't super intense but comes from deep down and shifts your expressions and thought process instantly and instantly evaporates any buyers remorse and questions on if this was the right purchase.
I haven't waned philosophically on art and being an artist for a while at least not in written (for consumption form) but it's always on my mind.
I may not draw or cr

You make some great points.
I think this might slightly fall under the first point I made in my blog post (an author establishing oneself beforehand to be politics), but also the third point (taking a stand).
But one thing I was considering while writing my blog post was the fact that many of the respected bloggers I followed were adults. And twice as old than I.
The message you're conveying is something only a younger person (even though you're older than me) can deliver. At least in this matter. One thing about adults is that they often have partners or children and careers.
Especially careers. When one makes a political stand, if they make a misstep, their career might be pulled from under their feet. Either it's through their higher-ups disapproving and pushing them out of their graces, or half their audience is disgusted and leave.
Maybe people like Chuck Wendig, whose entire platform is built on being audacious, can get away with it, but there're also many other bloggers and writers who wouldn't get away with it. Being political suddenly would be like a curveball.
Sometimes, you can't voice the truth without percussion on your reputation. It's a sad truth.
Yet, it makes those political stands the more stronger.
So I think the best way is to find the solution. Like you say, contact your congressman. But also, convince people to take action.
One problem is that I don't feel as passionate about the nation's state than you do. I'm saving that one political "rant" for when I really need it: When my right to marry is directly threatened by an Constitutional amendment. Or alternatively, when my state creates the bill that gives me then right to marry in the future, so I can encourage it.
I prefer a more cautious and specific approach to my politics.
